Discount supermarket Aldi has today unveiled its brand new food range, which is inspired by popular fast food chain McDonald’s. With prices starting from £1.49, the retailer said customers can make a saving of 47 percent compared to McDonald’s favourites.
The last addition to the range includes a cardboard box packed with 10 breakfast hash browns.
Aldi says they’re 85 percent cheaper than McDonald’s hash browns, costing just £1.49 for a box of 10.
Customers can pick up the crispy breakfast snack from May 24.
Shoppers can purchase all four snacks for just £5.86 at the supermarket.
In other Aldi news, the supermarket revealed its plans yesterday to become more sustainable and environmentally-friendly.
Aldi’s new plastics scheme enables customers to return soft plastics into store in a bid to reduce waste.
The recycling points will be located in 20 stores across Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Greater Manchester.
The bins will accept hard to recycle items regardless of where they were purchased.
Plastics and Packaging Director at Aldi UK Richard Gorman said: “We know our customers are environmentally-conscious.
“And as a responsible retailer, we are always striving to reduce plastic waste wherever possible.
“Our latest trial is another step in the right direction as we work towards being able to offer shoppers an option to bring problem plastic back to our stores that might not be recycled by their local councils.
“We will be monitoring the trial closely, and we hope that customers bring back their ‘soft’ plastics to our collection bins so that we can look at expanding this into more stores to help customers recycle.”
