It came after Hope Hicks, one of his closest advisors, tested positive for the disease on Thursday.
Ms Hicks was with the president less than 24 hours before testing positive.
The President made the revelation on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show.
He said: “I just went out with a test and the first lady went out with a test.
“So whether we have to quarantine. I just went in for a test and who knows.
“It’s very hard when you’re with people from the military and law enforcement and they want to hug you, they want to kiss you.”
Ms Hicks was with Mr Trump on Wednesday aboard the president’s Marine One helicopter according to White House reporters.
She went on to accompany the president to a rally in Minnesota.
Ms Hicks began experiencing symptoms of the disease on the way back from the rally and was quarantined on Air Force One according to Bloomberg News.
A day earlier on she was with the president when he travelled to the Cleveland presidential debate on Air Force One.
In a statement White House spokesman Judd Deere said: “The president takes the health and safety of himself and everyone who works in support of him and the American people very seriously.”
