Waitrose has issued the warning on the HiPP product due to a possible fault in some batches. This follows a warning issued for Birds Eye products sold in Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s.

“Or for a full refund return to Waitrose as part of your routine shopping.

“We apologise that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused.”

While the product is not harmful to the health of consumers, shoppers are encouraged to return the item.

This follows a food recall issued for a product sold in Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s.

Batch codes L1022 V U124, L1022 W U124, and L1022 X U124 are known to be affected.

They have a pack size of 200 grams and best before date of April 2022.

Any customers who have bought the products can return them to the stores where they were bought for a full refund.

Alternatively, shoppers can take a picture of the pack showing the batch code and send their name, address and contact details to Birds Eye via www.birdseye.co.uk/contact-us.

Food recalls are not often issued but they are important for customers to check.

When a problem is spotted, food items can be ‘recalled’ or ‘withdrawn’, and taken off shelves.
