Man Utd transfer news: United open to Harry Kane part-exchange with Tottenham | Football | Sport

Manchester United are only willing to move for Harry Kane if Tottenham are open to a part-exchange player-plus-cash deal, reports have claimed. The Red Devils have been tracking Kane for several years now but the striker’s commitment to Tottenham has always made a deal difficult.

It’s now make or break for Jose Mourinho and Spurs, who will face a defining end to the season between now and the end of May.

Tottenham could still win the League Cup and finish in the top-four but failure to achieve either could spell the end of Mourinho’s tenure.

Not only that but Kane looks set to request a summer transfer if Spurs fail to secure Champions League qualification.

Thankfully for Daniel Levy, the 27-year-old is currently tied down to a long-term contract until 2024, meaning Tottenham remain in a strong position to keep him.

The seasoned veteran is still weighing up his options, with a one-year contract extension on the table.

United realise they need to bring in a long-term solution at No 9 but Haaland and Kane remain out of their price range.

The luxury of spending big on a striker could also hinge on player sales.

It’s unlikely that United have any players they want to offload that Tottenham would be willing to take as part of a deal for Kane.

One small exception could be Dean Henderson, who Spurs are continuing to monitor amid Hugo Lloris’ contract saga.

Paris Saint-Germain is another potential destination for Kane, where he would reunite with former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The pair have a close relationship and PSG are one of the only clubs in world football with the financial muscle to pull off a deal.

It still remains likely that Kane will stay put in north London with a change of manager more probable.
