Melania Trump married her husband Donald Trump on January 22, 2005. The First Lady has an eye-catching diamond engagement ring that she is rarely seen without. Melania was also given another notable ring when she got married, but why doesn’t she wear it?
Melania was reportedly given a silver band worth as much as £300,000, senior gemologist at Queensmith Master Jewellers Eddi Norris told Express.co.uk.
He said: “Assuming each stone of the First Lady’s wedding ring is a one carat, internally flawless GIA diamond, with the highest colour grade, D, we’d be looking at a retail price between £200,000 to £300,000 from a big-name jeweller like Graff.
“If the colour grade was a little lower, say F, and the clarity grade VS2, to match her most recent engagement ring, we’d estimate closer to £160,000.
“A huge driver of this price is the premium, well-known status of the jeweller.”
The expert also explained the band has a classic style similar to that of an eternity ring.
Melania does not regularly wear the jewel although she has occasionally sported it on her right hand, the expert revealed.
“As spotted in her official White House portrait, Melania has been known to wear her wedding ring on the opposite hand to her engagement ring,” Eddi said.
“This is not uncommon for those who find their two rings a little uncomfortable to wear together.”
“Each emerald cut diamond set into Melania’s eternity-style wedding ring looks to be around the one carat mark, so the band is on the chunkier side.
“The sheer size and robust design does not lend itself well to sitting comfortably alongside her substantial engagement ring.”
Melania’s diamond engagement ring was upgraded to her current 25 carat jewel to celebrate her 10 year anniversary with Donald.
The upgraded band is much larger and Melania will usually wear it when she steps out.

Her skills aren’t confined to print, and she appeared in a commercial for Aflac, an American insurance company, in 2005.
Melania’s parents are Amalija Knavs and Viktor Knavs, and the couple live together in Washington.
She has one sister, Ines, who is reported to live in New York and work as an artist.
On May 7 2018, Melania launched her flagship campaign as First Lady, BE BEST, which The White House describes as “an awareness campaign focused entirely around the well-being of children”.
