Princess Anne news: Body language with Princess Margaret suggests they were ‘rivals’

Written by Administrator

Princess Anne is often branded one of the hardest working royals and, as a result, she has attended events with many members of the Royal Family. Before the death of Princess Margaret in 2002, the two royals occasionally stepped out together.

She said: “For a young woman growing up in a family where duty and royal protocol were paramount, ‘naughty’ auntie Margaret, with her hedonistic, celebrity lifestyle could easily have been seen as a point of refuge and escape.

“For Princess Anne though, this relationship looks more about the differences in both behaviour and outlook.”

Although the royals were sometimes seen together, Judi claimed they did not display any apparent signs of a close relationship.

While any similarities were not obvious, the expert suggested they both showed themselves to be among the most “glamorous” members of the Royal Family.

“It is hard to the point of impossible to remember any moments when the two women showed any genuine bonding signals,”Judi continued, “but was this apparent frost the result of a clash between two royal divas or just a mis-match of personalities?

“Although Margaret was Anne’s aunt there was a period of time when the two women appeared to be rivals for the role of royal glamour-puss in the press.

“Both were featured in high-end fashion magazines and their profiles were equally celebrity-focused.”

The expert claimed Princess Anne and Princess Margaret showed an interest in “celebrity”, making it one thing they had in common.

Princess Anne’s body language, on the other hand, appeared more “serious”, Judi continued.

The expert added: “Margaret’s pose is pure celebrity, with the one bent knee, the hands clasped above the waist and the pushed out chin and dazzling smile.

“Anne, however, seems to have taken her body language inspiration from the military man she is staring at.

“Her arms and legs are straight and to attention, her chin is slightly pulled in, and her frown and dour expression suggest a more serious and intense approach.”

The royal line of succession – who outranks who?

The line of succession to the British throne dictates the order in which each member of the Royal Family would ascend to the throne.

It is also seen as a ranking of importance with the head of the line, the Queen, taking the place of ruler.

Older children come before younger children. Traditionally boys came before girls, but this law was changed on 26 March 2015 before the birth of Prince William’s first child.

Incredibly, Catholics are still excluded from the line of succession, as are children born outside of wedlock.

The royals, who usually stick to a strict protocol when appearing in public, often arrive at events in ascending order of importance, with the most important royal arriving last.

Prince Charles, 72, is currently first-in-line to the British throne, followed by Prince William, 38, his oldest son.

Then comes Prince William’s children, George, seven, Charlotte, five, and Louis, two, and they are followed by Prince Harry, 36. Prince Harry is succeeded by his son Archie Harrison, born in May 2019.
