However, the former HRH went one better after the split. She adorned her ring finger with a new ring, bigger and more eye catching than the first.

The ring is a huge piece, a massive rectangular cut aquamarine stone flnaked with diamonds.

Diana is thought to have commissioned the piece for herself, inspired by a favourite aquamarine and diamond ring.

The piece, as a part of Diana’s private collection, was left to her sons on her death to give to their future partners, went unworn for decades.

The aquamarine gem sparkled on her finger, the blue an eye-catching contrast to her pure white gown.

Jewellery expert Charlotte White from 77 Diamonds analysed stunning bring.

She told Express.co.uk: “This aquamarine ring is estimated at around 30ct, and features two smaller diamonds on either side that create a stunning trilogy effect.

“It has a fine ocean-blue colour that is very sought-after, as this gem is said to bring the wearer peace and tranquillity.”

Charlotte White analysed more pieces from Meghan’s collection, including her engagement ring and numerous bracelets.

Two of the stones in Meghan’s engagement ring are said to be from Diana’s collecton.

Charlotte said: “The centre stone is surrounded by two round diamonds, estimated at just under a carat each. Allegedly, these stones are from Diana’s tennis bracelet.

“The centre stone is a stunning 3ct diamond famously sourced from Botswana, one of the first places Harry and Meghan went as a couple.”
