PS5 UK restock – Refresh button at the ready, as Smyths drops final shipment until mid-May | Gaming | Entertainment

If you’ve had no luck getting your hands on a PS5 since launch, then you might want to pay a visit to Smyths.

After a slow month for PS5 restocks, UK retailer Smyths has given customers fresh hope of bagging a console.

Both the PlayStation 5 disc and disc-less consoles are in and out of stock at Smyths.

With Smyths often dropping in smaller batches throughout the day, customers are encouraged to keep on refreshing the site.

As pointed out by PS5 UK Stock – Instant Updates (below), it’s also worth having two devices open when trying to buy.

Sadly, it looks like the stock woes will continue until mid-May, when a number of big stock drops are expected to take place.

“Major PS5 Stock should arrive second week of May if everything goes to plan,” reads a PS5 UK Stock – Instant Updates tweet.

If the tweet is accurate, then the stock will drop on the week beginning May 10.

While it’s a long wait for the stock to become available in stores, the good news is that the stock drops should be rather large.

This is because the delayed April stock should be available at the same time as the May drop.

As a reminder, international PlayStation 5 shipments were delayed due to transport issues.

“All UK PS5 stock delayed due to transport issues,” reads a previous tweet.

“Stock release was planned every week. Good news is Sony shipped out May’s stock, we’ll get April and May’s PS5 restock altogether so huge windows per drop!”

When the big restock does take place, fans will have a couple of big new games to try.

This includes upcoming PS5 exclusive Returnal, which is described as a roguelike bullet-hell shooter.

“After crash-landing on a shape-shifting alien planet, Selene finds herself fighting tooth and nail for survival. Again and again she’s defeated, forced to restart her journey every time she dies.

“In this roguelike shooter, both the planet and your equipment change with every cycle, forcing you to adapt your play style and take on evolving challenges.”

If developer Housemarque’s previous games are anything to go by, then fans are in for a treat!
