The Moon in Scorpio is always going to be emotional and a time where everything that has been kept in or hidden comes to light, but these feelings will be amplified during the Scorpio Full Supermoon this week. What’s the horoscope for the Scorpio Full Moon? Express.co.uk chatted to Moon Mentor and author of Lunar Living: Working with the Magic of the Moon Cycles, Kirsty Gallagher (@kirsty_gallagher_ on Instagram) to find out everything you need to know about the Supermoon on Tuesday.
What is a Supermoon?
There are about three or four Supermoons a year, and they’re not your average Full Moon.
During a supermoon, the Moon appears up to 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than the furthest a full moon can be.
A supermoon happens when the Full Moon coincides with the Moon’s closest approach to Earth in its orbit.
It is a Full moon or a New Moon that nearly coincides with perigee (the closest that the Moon comes to the Earth in its elliptical orbit).
The Supermoon isn’t just scientifically different from a normal Full Moon, they’ll have a different effect on your mood.
In Lunar Living: Working with the Magic of the Moon Cycle, Kirsty writes: “When a Moon is a Supermoon, her energies are amplified and the effects felt much more strongly, making your Moon magic more potent.”
At 4.21am on Tuesday, the Scorpio Full Moon will be visible in the sky, but you will already feel the emotions bubbling up within a few days before.
Even though this Full Moon will move your emotions, it’s all for the best. Kirsty said: “The Scorpio full moon is here to illuminate the skies and your life to create necessary inner transformation.”
“You may have felt this full moon building for days and wild is one of the words that I am going to use to describe it!”
Scorpios are very secretive, and holding too much emotion and leaving things unsaid isn’t very productive.
Luckily or not, the Scorpio Full Moon is about to reveal everything and help you overcome it.
Kirsty said: “This Scorpio Full Moon is here to illuminate the shadows and anything that you have been hiding from, ignoring, not dealing with or sweeping under the carpet over the last year.
“There can be no hiding anything under a Scorpio full moon.
“Anything that is not working in your life will be obvious and your emotions will be like tidal waves leading you towards what needs to be uncovered and seen.
“As always please pay close, close attention to what you are feeling the most emotional, frustrated or anxious about in your life as these are the areas that need some shift, change or transformation.”

Scorpios have a reputation for being sassy and passionate, which is why some people mistake it for a fire sign.
However, as Kirsty points out it is actually a water sign. She said: “Scorpio is a water sign and takes you as deep into the emotional depths as you can go.
“This is a Full Moon that brings a huge opportunity for healing, transformation and self-awareness.”
This Full Supermoon might be difficult in the moment, but you should take it as a chance to really improve certain areas of your life.
Kirsty advised: “What you may find quite strongly over this full moon is that you know that you are ready to make changes in certain areas of your life, but you don’t know what or how.
“If ‘I don’t know what to do’ has become your mantra and things may feel a bit confusing and uncertain, now is the time to look deeper
“You are being asked to really work through what you are currently feeling, experiencing and going through. You are being asked to trust in yourself.”
It can be easy to brush off deeper feelings because you don’t want to deal with them, but this Supermoon is asking you to look beneath the surface.
Kirsty added: “Under this Full Moon it’s time to reflect, slow down and go inward to build firm roots and foundations first and foremost in yourself before the world out there pulls you back into the fast lane of life and we become indoctrinated in the busy world once more.”
